WEEK-IN #23
We are our surroundings
People change. We morph ourselves into a different person than what we were as a kid, as we can't be jumping and playing all evening. But, does that mean we are becoming the person we are not aiming for? Does that mean you are a completely different person from a decade ago?
Let's talk change. As I've already said, we can't be jumping every evening, cause we adapt to what we live in the moment. We also change the way we talk, eat, smile, sleep... everything. We don't do this consciously, but our sub-conscious rythms observe everything around us and morph us accordingly. That's the point. We become what is everything around us, and that's scary on a lot of occasions.
Let's say you've been a smart kid at school, and now you've become a maniac of all the wrong things. You don't know what went wrong and your trial of bringing back the better of you might not be happening. We change what we are, to blend into our surroundings. If you have smart students around you, you are being pushed to become one. If everyone's a maniac, you will become one despite your efforts. This happens because you don't want to be the odd one out. Let's say every one of your friends likes to go to a movie, and you don't like movies and reject going out with them, a gap is created. You do it multiple times and you are left to be alone cause you have rejected to blend in. Your brain fears of you becoming a lonely, volatile human. So, you might not like to do what everyone else is doing, yet your subconscious thoughts push you to become one of them. Still, is it good to become one of what we are not?
Well, I'm not here to tell you that, You are the one to decide the answer. My answer would be, blending in is a core element of being a social being. But, you holding onto your inner self is much needed. That inner self is what makes you, YOU. If you don't like to do a task which everyone else is doing, stay strong on your point. It's ok to maintain a gap in some aspects that losing yourself. But, don't become a lonely person. Try to blend into some kind of group to share your experiences, or have multiple groups each of a different character, so that you'll have one for every king of thought.
