Stephen King - HORROR master

This blog's gonna be different from my regular ones. I mostly talk about what I've learned from my daily life. Today, I'm going to talk about the master of horror. I've read Stephen King's writings previously. I never used to understand horror. I am in no condition to judge horror books, cause I haven't read many. Yet, I read "The Shining" which is considered the gold standard of horror, and it was fine. Some parts of it scary, yes, but overall the story telling is excellent and horror factor was fine. I enjoyed it none the less. Three days ago, I started "Pet Sematary". I started this book cause one of my colleagues mentioned this one to be the best, and I just completed another book. So I wanted a safer bet which I knew the writing will be good, so I can enjoy the book for next couple of days. 400+ pages completed in three days. That's a record for me. This is no ordinary book. First thing, I don't read books the whole day. I just c...

Magic Behind Books

When someone asked me "Why do you read books?", I replied, "Books speak to me only when I ask them to." Being among books makes me feel as if I am among a plethora of untold stories, ready to be explored. Every word you read in a book builds its own world inside your brain where it remains in its own unique state only for you. Whatever the genre is, books are always amazing at creating the awe of art, and here I am to explain some of it so that you can hop on too. Weirdly, I've started reading books with biographies. The first two books were biographies of two of the people I follow and respect. People ask me what good it is going to bring by reading other's lives. Biographies have helped me peek into the lives of the people I admire, and their ideologies and also answered some of my questions for problems in my real life too. It is as if I get to stay with them for a couple of days day-in and day-out. Then poured myself heavily into Fiction, Crime, Thrille...

Harry Potter series (Books)

I have to specifically mention books as, the moment people look at the first three words, they think it's movies. I am talking here about the seven-part book series though. Of course movie series seem to be awesome too, though I don't remember watching all eight parts as it came out when I was in school and I wasn't much of a fan of Hollywood movies. After schooling, the hype gradually settled down which never pushed me to watch it. Books are a different story though. I knew Harry Potter was one of the highest-selling book collections ever, yet I was not too deep into children's fiction and that too never read such a long series. I held back. One time, when I was in a casual conversation with my cousin, he got to know that I read books but never have I touched Harry Potter. That was enough for him to ignite the long rant of why I should read it. Though he is a decade younger than me, he had taken time (hours) to explain why it's the best of the best. So, I thought o...

WEEK-IN #2

The Reader This is one of those weeks where I have no content to write but have to put out something interesting and unique. Bare with me. Reading books had always been my go-to whenever I feel depressed. Not everyone knows how amazing is to read a book rather than watching the story as a movie or a tv show. Below is the list of 9 books/series of books which have taken a forever place in my self of best books. (Not exactly in this order). 1. Recursion - by  Blake Crouch Thriller, Fantasy, Love, Sci-fi The genres you see above are the ones I always prefer. Getting all of those in a single book is a dream come true. Even if I say a single point from the book, that would be a spoiler. 2. Dark Matter - by  Blake Crouch Thriller, Fantasy, Love, Sci-fi Same genres, same author, amazing story. If you love these genres, have a look at these books. 3. The Institute - by  Stephen King Thriller, Fantasy, Sci-fi By the legendary Stephen King. This book takes you through a chill...
