WEEK-IN #20
Psychologist
Psychologist lives in a wired place in our thinking space. A psychologist is the one who deals with mentally unstable people, is what we think. That is true, in some aspects. What we are incorrect about is, who is mentally unstable? Are you? Am I? Saying no to such a question is convincing ourselves for the most part in my generation. So, what might be the answer?
You, just like me, lead a happy life on weekends and a disturbed life on weekdays. In other words, lead a happy life while having fun and a disturbed life while doing work. That means you are unstable on weekdays? Unstable at your work? Finding that spot is tricky. On the contrary, being happy doesn't mean you are stable, and being disturbed doesn't mean you are unstable. So, where do we stand?
This is where a Psychologist might help you. Having such confusion is a pain, and easing that pain is what such a doctor does. Every one of us is unstable in some aspect, and that single aspect festers in the back of the brain. Resolving such issues is crucial, ad we keep neglecting it. Adding to it, not all problems can be solved just through motivational thoughts. Our brain is an organ, and an organ might malfunction in multiple ways. We all know, when an organ malfunctions, medication can resolve the problem. So, there are certain situations where your brain needs medication, and delaying that might pull your life down.
Another point to add is, youngsters too need help from a psychologist. It is not as simple as "All your downfall is just due to that damn smartphone." There are students who cannot handle situations just due to some issue in their brain, and we all simply try to resolve those through "Work hard now to lead a better life tomorrow." My suggestion would be, to have a Psychologist in every educational institution apart from a General medicine doctor. Every single student should have frequent consultations with a Psychologist to sort out any mental dilemma.
This is harsh to accept, but we all are mentally ill in some form. Never hesitate to take help from a trained person for such issues i.e., Psychologists, as they exist for this very reason.
